Elusive Shorty Kellems gets off the marital hook by convincing his eager bride-to-be that he is an inveterate gambler.
The hillbillies again meet "Honest John," the con man who had sold them half of Manhattan and then returned their journey.
Elly May gets a job at Mr. Drysdale's bank and moves into co-worker Jane Hathaway's apartment.
The Clampetts pack up to return to Beverly Hills, so Jethrine tries to pack Jazzbo Depew. Elly says goodbye to her animals
The Clampetts are visited by a real king, Alexander, so Granny and Mrs. Drysdale start matchmaking. The broke royal needs a wealthy bride and courts Ellie. Drysdale niece Doreen is tricked by a costumed Jethro and ends up unimpressed.
Granny wants to go home because folks are so unfriendly no one has come to call.
Johnny Poke's mother arrives from the Ozarks and Granny's matchmaking begins. Jed and Emma Poke come up with a plan to discourage her.
Drysdale, at first irate that beautiful actress Bergstrom is kept on an expensive stipend without making a film, is smitten at first sight and so places the actress in the Clampett home to learn backwoods accents and ways for a movie.

The Clampett mansion is set up as a hotel for women, and banker Drysdale decides to extort a few dollars from his secretary guests.
It's tonic time in Beverly Hills. Granny's made a batch of tonic and sends a sample to their new neighbor, the Countess Maria. She loves it and throws a party to celebrate.
Jethro leaves home when he learns his ugly childhood sweetheart is coming for a visit, not knowing she has become a beauty contest winner.
Mrs. Drysdale leaves for a health farm saying Mr. Drysdale is "going to have a new wife," while Mr. Drysdale tells Cousin Pearl he'd like her to keep his house.
Drysdale hires Jed to be a banker when he needs a crack shot to help beat a rival banker in a skeet shooting competition, but his partner needs to be an employee.
The Clampetts decide to run the store on the empty studio Western set but can't understand why they don't have any customers.
Mr. Drysdale tells the Clampetts that he is building a city on the location where Jed's movie studio is located. The Clampetts mistake a western prop town for the city.
Elly bonds with the Thanksgiving turkey so the family can't bring themselves to kill it.
Jethro thinks he wants to be a naval frogman, but Granny is concerned her tonic has transformed him. Mr. Drysdale, concerned about finances, has Miss Jane distract Jethro with comics, causing him to want to fly to the moon.
