Emma meets Ash - a handsome horse riding instructor. A horse falls ill and Emma must use her powers to fix it. Lewis accidentally invites both Charlotte and Cleo to an awards dinner.

Cleo is failing at school and is assigned a tutor - Charlotte. Cleo wants Lewis back but her attitude to Charlotte only drives him further away. Cleo discovers Lewis and Charlotte kissing.

Zane hears of a treasure under the ocean and enlists the girls to find it. Rikki is injured in the search. Zane gives Rikki the reward. Charlotte contrives to keep Lewis from the girls.

Emma starts acting weird after pricking her finger on a barb of coral. Cleo’s fish Hector exhibits the same behaviour. Emma becomes more and more like a fish and Lewis has to find a way to cure her.

Don takes the family camping on Mako Island during a Full Moon. The girls are affected and need the moon pool for sanctuary. Charlotte almost slips in the moon pool and realises something weird is going on there.

Emma thinks she’s going to get a promotion at the juice bar but Ash is given the job. Emma and Ash clash over the job, but we discover it’s over a lot more. Meanwhile, Lewis stands up to Charlotte over spending time with Cleo.

Lewis and Zane find an old myth about mermaids is true – the scent of ambergris sends them wild. But it backfires when sleazy Nate gets hold of the scent and has all three mermaid girls on his arm!

Rikki tries to avoid Zane when he comes back, but needs his help after an incident with a speedboat. Meanwhile, Charlotte continues to flirt with Lewis and Cleo worries for their secret.

Cleo and Rikki push Ash into asking Emma out again – little did they know he’d turn up at Emma’s place in time for a full moon! Rikki and Cleo are both moonstruck and Ash looks set to discover Emma’s secret.

For the first anniversary of the girls being mermaids, Cleo decides to throw a party. However, Emma and Rikki fall out following a fight between Ash and Zane and Cleo may have to celebrate alone.

Lewis discovers someone called Max Hamilton did research fifty years ago on the strange properties of Mako Island. Lewis tracks the old man down and finds that he knows a lot more about mermaids than Lewis first thought.

Charlotte demands answers to why Lewis is hanging out with the girls so much. She believe an excuse from Cleo, but then a discovery from inside Max's research brings her to the secret! Meanwhile, Ash decides to help Emma with her fear of water.

Charlotte follows Lewis to Max Hamilton. Max tells all to Charlotte when he discovers she’s the granddaughter of his one true love. Charlotte and Lewis almost break up until she goes to the moonpool, becoming a mermaid herself!

The girls have to deal with a fourth mermaid who turns out to be a loose cannon; Charlotte almost turns into a mermaid at a volleyball competition. Charlotte discovers she has all three mermaid superpowers.

As the girls continue to have problems accommodating Charlotte as a mermaid, Nate bullies Lewis. Despite the girls’ attempts to keep Charlotte under control, she uses her powers on Nate and almost exposes them all.

Charlotte takes over and organises a surprise party for Lewis, annoying Rikki. At the party, Charlotte is jealous of Cleo and traps her and Emma in a pool room. Rikki comes back just in time. From now on, Charlotte is on her own.

Cleo is bullied by Charlotte and runs away to the ocean. With Cleo missing, everyone becomes more and more worried. Lewis discovers what Charlotte has been up to and breaks up with her. He finds Cleo and they kiss.

The full moon rises, and with the planets lining up, it can remove mermaid powers for good. Knowing this, Lewis lures Charlotte to the moon pool but it backfires and Emma, Cleo and Rikki all look set to lose their powers.

Cleo and Rikki face their final year of high school without Emma. They make a new friend in Bella and meet new boy Will – and encounter a strange new force on Mako Island that turns water against them.

Will seeks confirmation of his first experience on Mako Island. Bella volunteers to misdirect his search so he won't find the Moon Pool. The girls and Lewis discover the Moon Pool has changed.

Cleo seeks a new job as an assistant dolphin trainer at the Marine Park. Rikki fires Nate's band from playing at the cafe until she and Bella reach an understanding.

Cleo is forced to put Lewis' plans for romance on hold to restrain Kim's out-of-control love life. During this time, Don meets Samantha, a National Parks manager, and they start dating.

Zane concocts a dirt bike race to publicize the café. When Rikki discovers it's a scam, she and Bella decide to teach him and Nate a lesson. Cleo and Lewis make a major discovery about mixing the waters in the Moon Pool.

Bella attempts to start a relationship with Will until she sees he's apparently got another girl. Lewis tests the magic Moon Pool water at school and attracts the attention of their Science teacher.

A problematic family beach picnic leads Don to end his relationship with Samantha, until Cleo encourages him to pursue it. Will's sister, Sophie, competes with Bella for a job at the café and sets her sights on Zane.

Rikki and Bella hide out at Cleo's to protect themselves from a full moon water attack. However, Bella is kidnapped by a water tentacle and taken to Mako Island. Lewis tries to keep Will away from the island so the girls can rescue her.

Cleo defies Lewis' advice and experiments with the magic Moon Pool water. Using her powers, Rikki accidentally gets the water into Cleo's aquarium and all the girls have to rescue Cleo's fish Hector.

Bella's warned to back off from Will as he's on the trail of the girls' mermaid secrets. She gets too close to him and he finally discovers she's a mermaid.

Bella helps Will with his free-diving training but when she realises he's more interested in her as a mermaid than a girl, she's hurt. Rikki and Cleo have to improvise when the cafe's first corporate function is actually a children's party.

Rikki receives counterfeit money at the café and is held captive by criminals on a boat. Bella and Cleo are forced to reveal the trio's secret to Will, so they can rescue Rikki together.

Kim attempts to derail Don and Samantha's wedding. Lewis receives an opportunity to study in America. Cleo realises she's got to let Lewis live his own life and let him go overseas.

Will pushes himself too far when Zane challenges him to prove his skills as a free-diver. The girls discover a unique crystal in the rock from the Moon Pool.

Sophie uses Bella's idea for a fundraising concert and presents it as her own to Rikki to gain publicity for the café. Cleo's caught in the crossfire with Kim when Samantha moves in and puts her stamp on the Sertori home.

Rikki's frustrated by the water attacks and goes to Mako Island on a full moon to confront the strange force in the Moon Pool. With Cleo and Bella delayed, Will pursues her and discovers she's been affected by the experience.

Cleo's introduced to Ryan, a young geophysicist who's working for Samantha. Rikki doesn't react well to Cleo consulting Ryan about the Mako rock and a fracture begins to appear in the trio.

Rikki fears Ryan's explorations on Mako Island will uncover their secrets but Cleo and Bella discount her concern. She almost goes too far trying to stop Ryan from discovering the crystals in the Moon Pool.

Will competes in the Free-Diving Championships but afterward chooses to break from the sport and shrug off Sophie's influence on his life. Rikki sees Sophie kissing Zane at the event and breaks off their relationship.

Zane installs Sophie as head of staff at the café. Bella develops a sneezing allergy that also accidentally triggers her powers. Sophie seizes on the problem and looks to fire Bella and the band.

The girls discover the Mako crystals contain immense energy and need to mount a rescue mission when Zane jealously steals one in an effort to gain Rikki's attention.

The girls sit their final school exams and have to avoid a water attack in public when the full moon rises early. They confront the water force in the Moon Pool and are given a message about Mako Island.

Bella's eager to ask Will to the end of year party until she sees him asking Rikki. A big misunderstanding occurs, which prompts Will to express his true feelings for Bella. Sophie tries to get Zane to change the name of the café.

Don gets a second job at the Marine Park on the Pirate ship and outshines Cleo, threatening the future of her Dolphin show. Bella and Will find difficulty trying to connect with each others' interests.

Cleo discovers a comet is causing fish to flee the waters around Mako Island. The girls find a way to restart the message in the Moon Pool and discover the comet will collide with earth.

Sophie and Ryan damage the Moon Pool in their efforts to obtain the rare crystals. The girls improvise and use their own magic to prevent the impact of the comet and a planet wide catastrophe. Rikki, Cleo and Bella graduate with a surprise.

Cleo and Emma meet new girl, Rikki, and find themselves stuck on Mako Island where they are transformed into mermaids. As well as growing tails, the girls find they have powers over water.

Annoying Miss Popularity, Miriam, is having a pool party and the girls want to go. But being around water is risky, especially when Zane tosses Cleo into the pool. Lewis is the only one around to help so he finds out their secret.

Rikki, Emma and Cleo discover that sea turtles are being captured by fishing nets. When Rikki and Emma attempt to rescue the turtles by cutting the nets, it causes the fisherman to think that there is a rogue shark roaming their ocean.

Cleo's sister Kim finds her diary and thinks that Cleo and her friends are 'evil mermaids' and she plans to tell everyone. Meanwhile, Lewis goes to Mako Island to find out more about what happened to the girls.
